After the Chautauqua in Community Park has let stories of women Who made History come alive this past weekend, history enthusiasts in Jacksonville and neighboring communities have the opportunity in two weeks, September 15, to celebrate with another phenomenal event, a tour of three grand homes in Governor Duncan’s Neighborhood and the Illinois College President’s Mansion. One walking tour begins at 8:45 a.m. and two tours start at 9:30 a.m.
Participation offers history lovers and enthusiasts of fine homes the chance to continue their support for one of Jacksonville’s true treasures: the Governor Duncan Mansion in Duncan Park off West State St., whose expert upkeep will continue to benefit from the profits.
These annual Historic Walking Tours include a choice of brunch or one of two luncheons scheduled for three serving times at the Mansion: 9:30 – 11:00 – 12:30.
Reservations are $30 and due by September 12.
To reserve, please call Pat at 217-245-5390.
