In 1910, eleven children ride the Orphan Train with two agents from the Children’s Aid Society, Miss Rampleweed and Miss St. James, from New York City to Central Missouri. With varying characters and scenarios provided by reflective “Older” characters, the history, the heartache and the hope that these children carried with them are shared as they are chosen by prospective adoptive parents.
Characters are composites taken from the Orphan Train “survivors” and their descendants. The Orphan Train transported more than 250,000 children from the East Coast to families mostly in the Midwest from 1854-1929.
Auditions will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 starting at 9 a.m. For more information, click here
