The Animal Protective League (APL) will hold dog and cat adoptions Friday through Sunday at PetSmart, 3183 South Veterans Parkway, as part of the store’s National PetSmart Adoption Weekend.
Adoptable dogs and cats will be available:
· Friday, May 3 – cats from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
· Saturday, May 4 – dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
· Sunday, May 5 – cats from 11 a.m. and dogs from noon until 4 p.m.
Dogs will also be featured at the APL annual Upscale Sale from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The event will be held at the former Best Value Thrift store location at 1333 West Wabash.
All animals adopted through APL are spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped.
APL is a non-profit organization committed to caring for sick, injured, abused and abandoned dogs and cats and finding the best possible permanent homes for them. In addition to regular pet adoptions, the organization coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs and operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield.
