There will be a pilgrimage to the tomb of Farley "Lafore" Lock on the 99th anniversary of his death, Oct. 18, 1918, in France in WW 1. He is the namesake of VFW Post 755 and he belonged to the 130 Infantry unit which is still active today. A Springfield native who was wounded in the battle of second Somme Offensive in France and died the following day. He was cited for bravery in action. Join us for a brief remembrance. Parking at the memorials and we plan to walk about 2 blocks to his marker. Driving is permitted but please allow that for those that can't walk as parking is limited. Bring poppies or violas too. 2018 will mark the 100th anniversary of his death.
