TIME STANDS STILL BY DONALD MARGULIES – October 6-8 & 13-15 in Theatre 3
(Performances Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30pm and Sundays at 4pm).

The show will star Mary Young, Johnny Molson, Anna McFarland and Harvey Mack.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students and seniors (over 60).

THE STORY: TIME STANDS STILL focuses on Sarah and James, a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent trying to find happiness in a world that seems to have gone crazy. Theirs is a partnership based on telling the toughest stories, and together, making a difference. But when their own story takes a sudden turn, the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life.

Sarah returns to her Brooklyn loft after being injured by a roadside bomb while working in Iraq. She is tended to in her recovery by her longtime boyfriend James, also a journalist. His caring is almost solicitousness and soon we find out why: He feels guilty for having left the war zone, and Sarah's side, after suffering a breakdown induced by the trauma of covering relentless combat.

TIME STANDS STILL captures the awkward dance of a couple trying to regain domestic rhythms, haunted not just by the horrors they've witnessed but also by nagging questions about the responsibilities and ethics of journalists assigned to record atrocities for mass consumption.

"Can you be a dispassionate, uninvolved observer of horrific events, recording them for posterity and still keep a sense of right and wrong, not to mention your sanity? It's one of several questions getting a workout in TIME STANDS STILL…Insightful writing, the work is smart, stylish, timely and layered with an intriguing seriousness that inspires discussion after the curtain comes down—a rarity these days." - Associated Press

Hoogland Productions is proud to present the Tony Nominated play TIME STANDS STILL by Donald Margulies.

---------------------------------

When the opposite of wrong, isn't necessarily right.

When good doesn't fix bad.

When war preys on love, and two people no longer want the same thing, TIME STANDS STILL.

Pulitzer Prize winning author Donald Margulies presents a love story of two war correspondents who cannot escape their inner battles.

When photojournalist Sarah Goodwin is nearly killed while covering conflict overseas, her guilt-stricken partner, freelance reporter James Dodd, brings her home determined to put her, and their lives back together.

Along with their lifelong friend Richard, and his new young girlfriend Mandy, they challenge each other to define what is right in a world that seems to be falling apart.

Can you find joy in life, while so many others are still hurting?
