Peace Lutheran Church is holding a Community Shred event on Sept. 23 and launching an all-new FLEX Financial Peace University on Sept. 24.
The events can help community members protect themselves from identity theft and further their financial goals.
The Community Shred, sponsored by Thrivent Choice, will be held from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 in the parking lot of Peace, 2800 W. Jefferson St. It is free and open to local residents. There is a five box limit per person, and you can watch your documents being shredded. Additional material on identity theft prevention will be available.
Financial Peace University's new FLEX program will begin on Sunday, Sept. 24. It meets at Peace for nine weeks on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. for no more than one hour. Class members will be responsible for watching the video online on their own during the week. The weekly meeting will include discussion, activities and accountability.
You can register for the class at www.daveramsey.com/fpu/classes/1046381 or by calling 217-801-7464.
