Hoogland Productions and Playhouse on the Square are pleased to present a two-weekend run of Deathtrap. Show dates are January 5-7 and 12-14. The show is sponsored by Corporation Service Company.
Don't miss this nerve-racking thriller from the pen of Ira Levin, author of ROSEMARY'S BABY.
Playwright Sidney (John Paris) has a problem. He hasn't written a hit in years. So when a young author Clifford (Andrew Brant) shows him a brilliant new thriller, Sidney starts scheming murder, much to his wife Myra's (Julie Staley) dismay. Add to this mix a kooky Danish psychic (Donna Stare) and Sidney's attorney (Mike Schneider) and you have a fun-filled fright night!
This ingeniously constructed play offers a rare and skillful blending of two priceless theatrical ingredients: gasp-inducing thrills and spontaneous laughter. Dealing with the devious machinations of a writer of thrillers whose recent offerings have been flops, and who is prepared to go to any lengths to improve his fortunes, Deathtrap provides twists and turns and sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be held spellbound until the very last moment.
"It is a classic thriller, a genre with a style, a manner and an audience of its own. If you like thrillers, see it!" - NY Post.
