Troy Davis bases his comedy on his own life experiences, which is good, because this way he knows nobody else is stealing his act. As a middle-aged man, former bricklayer and father of a gay son and two daughters, Troy has a lot of material to work with, which everyone in the audience can relate to
Troy's comedy is clean, funny, and original, and if you mix that in with his instantly likable stage presence, you've got yourself a show for everyone to enjoy. A chance to connect with an audience that understands his blue collar variety of comedy is always exciting for Davis, who is based out of Indianapolis.
"There are just a lot of good, regular folks in the Midwest in general," he said. "I've always received a good crowd response. They just seem to get my jokes and find it relatable." Much of Davis' comedy focuses on his children, including the trials of parenting and going through three divorces.
Growing up, Troy attended eight different schools in twelve years. As the new kid he learned early how to grab the spotlight and make friends quickly. After graduating high school Troy decided to open his own business as a mason; which he has been actively involved in for 30 years. At the age of 35 Troy decided to lay the foundation to his career, but now in comedy, with huge success. Five years later Troy decided to take on comedy full-time gaining rave reviews throughout the Midwest at over 160 cities and 30 states.
