PRICE: free, donations to Starhill Forest Arboretum accepted
The Starhill Forest Arboretum is a 50 acre Living Museum located north of Salisbury. This hike of about 1.5 miles will be lead by Starhill Forest Arboretum Curator Alana McKean, who will point out interesting things happening in the early spring. While there is no admission charge, this is a small organization and donations to them will be appreciated. The hike is easy to moderate with some steep hills. Participants must sign a Sierra Club Outings Liability Waiver and minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. 20 person limit. Directions from Springfield; (30 minutes): Take Illinois 97 North out of Springfield about 11.5 miles. Once you are north of Salisbury keep your eye open for Knoles Road and take a right on it. In a few hundred feet take a right onto Knoles Meadows/Old Farm Road. In 0.7 miles take a left onto Boy Scout Trail. 1.9 miles down the road will be Starhill Forest Arboretum on the left. look for the sign with the Logo by the mailbox.
