The Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU School of Medicine (SCI) is hosting its tenth “Denim and Diamonds” fundraiser Saturday, October 2. The funds raised will strengthen women and children’s cancer programs and research at SCI.
Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest denim or formal attire for the event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 3000 S. Dirksen Parkway, Springfield. This year’s theme is “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.” Tickets are $125 per person or $1,250 for a table of 10 and available by calling 217-545-2955 weekdays.

For the first time in central Illinois, touch-pad bidding will be available for the silent auction which will provide greater convenience and processing speed.
