The Peoria Civic Center is now accepting applications for the community to be a part of WorldFest 2012. Openings are available for service booths that are associated with community groups. A limited number of retail booths are also available for people to sell goods. Service booths are free of charge, and a $50 fee is required for retail booths. Parties interested in reserving a booth at WorldFest 2012 should contact Phyllis Farnam at 309-680-3506.
WorldFest 2012 is a celebration of the many ethnic groups in Central Illinois and will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Exhibit Hall D. Admission is free.
WorldFest 2012 is a cultural event created locally by the Peoria Civic Center Authority’s Cultural Diversity Committee that features live entertainment related to participating countries, ethnic food, cultural displays, and unique items for sale at the World Market booths.
WorldFest 2012, a celebration of the many ethnic groups in Central Illinois in conjunction with Youth Doing the Right Thing, will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Exhibit Hall D. Parking and admission are free. The Central Illinois Black Expo will be held in Exhibit Halls A & B.
The International Food Court will feature ethnic appetizers and desserts from around the world. There will also be entertainment provided by the participating ethnic groups. The event also features a raffle with various prizes. Raffle tickets are $5 each, three for $10, or seven for $20.
