Join us for the Annual Tree Tour at Oak Ridge Cemetery on October 26th from 1 to 4 pm. The tour this year will be in the northwest section of the cemetery, just off J. David Jones Parkway/Route 29. The star tree this year is the Osage-orange tree that dates back to the mid-1800's. This tree is thought to be the largest and most spectacular tree in the Springfield area. Six of the trees on the tour this year are original to the cemetery, some dating back 100 years.
The 14 other trees have been planted since 1992, and are either rare or a hybrid. Parking will be plentiful among the roads in the tour. For more information call: Oak Ridge Cemetery Office, (217)789-2340.
