It's All in Your Head! Some Current Information About Music and the Brain

Brown Bag Program presented by Erich Schroeder, Illinois State Museum

Wednesday, September 18, Noon-1 pm

Research & Collections Center, 1011 E. Ash St., Springfield

Free and open to the public

ISM Curator Erich Schroeder will guide you through some current research into the science of music, including: what is music and how is it perceived; memory; what makes a musician; and the use of music in a medical context. There will also, of course, be some banjo playing. Erich will be joined by Sharon Graf and Mark Mathewson for some tunes.

Bring your lunch and join us for a different speaker and topic on the third Wednesday of each month. Brown Bag Lectures are held at the ISM Research & Collections Center at 1011 E. Ash St. in Springfield. The Collections Center must be accessed via the gate on Ash St. and approached from 11th Street or further east due to the rail closure at Ash and 10 ½ Streets. For additional information, please contact events@illinoisstatemuseum.org or (217) 558-6696.
